The First Peoples Principles of learning are collection of holistic values that are naturally embedded in the learning process. As I move through my journey as an educator, my awareness of how important these ideas are to student development and support is constantly growing.
A few examples of ways that I have embedded these principles into my practice include the following:
- Group work opportunities
- Providing opportunities for Students to teach and learn from each other
- Giving students a chance to explore their what is important to them and their personal identities. (See poetry activity below)
